The Rams are hoping to put the dust off their 2015 season with the signing of former Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford.
But the Rams won’t be without a new face to their franchise.
They’ve already hired former Oakland Raiders coach Dennis Allen to take over as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.
The Rams have also signed former Browns head coach Hue Jackson as a consultant.
Here are some things we know about the Rams:1.
Allen was the Raiders offensive coordinator in 2016, the same year he coached the Browns, but he also spent time with the Jets and Vikings.
Allen coached in the AFC West and was fired by the Jets after one season in 2017.2.
Allen and Jackson have a history of being friends.
In 2018, Jackson tweeted that Allen was “a big reason why I never took the Browns.”3.
The Browns have hired longtime NFL quarterbacks coach Josh McDaniels to replace Allen.
McDaniel is a former offensive coordinator for the Ravens, but spent the past two seasons with the Rams, where he led the Rams to a 9-7 record in 2017, the team’s best season since 2011.4.
In 2019, the Rams made their first-ever playoff appearance with Allen at the helm.
The team went 10-6.5.6.
Allen has a long track record with offensive coordinators and quarterbacks, having spent two seasons as the Browns offensive coordinator from 2015 to 2016 and three seasons with Jackson as the Vikings offensive coordinator.
Jackson is one of the most polarizing coaches in the league, and it’s not likely the Rams would want to lose their offensive coordinator without his input.
But it could also be that they’ll have a chance to make some bold moves to shake up the Rams offense without the support of the organization.7.
The NFL’s most important coach has also been a head coach for the past decade.
He coached the Bengals, Browns and Steelers, but has worked with just two teams, the Chargers and the Saints.
He’s also worked as an offensive coordinator with the Chiefs, Texans and Jaguars.8.
The Chargers were one of seven teams to lose two of their first five games under Allen.
The Saints also went 8-8.9.10.
The Patriots are the only team in the NFL to go 9-8 under Belichick.
Allen is the first coach to lead the Patriots since Belichick’s return in 2012.11.
The Bills hired new head coach Sean McDermott, who previously served as the Bengals’ head coach from 2013 to 2016.
The Eagles are now led by a head man in Chip Kelly, who was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator under Allen in 2015.12.
